Our club represent a variety of cars and trucks from the 30's through the 70's. Our vehicles

        include--stock, street rods & customs. We get together throughout the year by attending cruise

         in’s and numerous car shows both local and out of town--We LOVE Road Trips!

"FLASH BACKS"

CLUB HISTORY

          On Sunday, August 24, 1969, Don Gilder came to our house inquiring if we had any interest in forming a     "Hot 

Rod Club".  The following Sunday, August 31, 1969 the following people met at the Gilders for an informal meeting to

discuss  the feasibility and desire of forming a "Hot Rod Club".

          The following Sunday, September 7, 1969--"Rod Runners"--my choice of names--was officially formed.

          The original club officers were elected at this meeting.  To the best of my memory, the Rod Runners Officers

were as follows:

President--Chuck Kuchta

Vice President--Cliff Simmons

Secretary--Jim Griffith

Treasurer--Don Gilder

          You will notice, there were NO female officers.  "We were demonstrating and burning our bras!"

           As the engines knocked in our "Beaters," the club continued to grow. The membership dues covered: Club

annual membership and NSRA dues.

           Chuck and I always had an interest in cars.  His daily driver was a 1957 Chevy and mine was a 1964 Corvette -

-our family car was a 1966 Chevy Nova!
